Videojet công bố ra mắt 3 loại mực mới cho dòng máy in phun liên tục 1000

WOOD DALE, Ill. — April 24, 2012 — Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, announced the launch of three new inks for their 1000 Line of continuous inkjet printers. Videojet developed the new V489-C pigmented black ink, V438-D black heat-cure ink and V413-D black returnable bottling ink to fulfill specialized customer requirements and applications.

“Videojet is focused on meeting our customers’ unique application needs while ensuring maximum printer uptime,” said John Kirschner, Videojet supplies business marketing director. “And all Videojet fluids are designed to provide optimum print quality and greater uptime. With over 340 application-unique products, Videojet manufactures more fluids and supplies than any other industrial coding and marking manufacturer.”

Pigmented Black Ink
Further expanding applications for its Videojet 1710 printer, the V489-C pigmented ink is specially formulated to resist ink code transfer when printed onto light-colored extruded cables and wires. The ink is also suitable for coding onto metal food cans and flexible film pouches that are stacked during the retort cooking process— reducing the risk of product-to-product ink transfer that may sometimes occur with dye-based inks.

The V489-C black pigment ink provides exceptional transfer resistance and adhesion, improved uptime and high contrast codes all of which help optimize packaging operations.

Black Heat-Cure Ink
This heat-curable, high performance black ink is specifically designed to enable printing onto industrial parts and components that require solvent resistant codes and/or exceptional code durability. The V438-D black heat-cure ink is most suited for auto, aerospace and durables part marking; processed food and electronic parts marking applications. Beyond providing outstanding adhesion and uptime, the ink provides customers with superior solvent resistance.

Black Returnable Bottling Ink
Beer and beverage glass bottlers can take advantage of this top performing black ink that not only improves ink code adhesion when printed onto cold-filled, returnable glass bottles, but also can be removed easily during a standard caustic wash process employing commonly used wash additives such as a surfactant or a detergent when bottles are returned for refilling. The practice of returnable bottles allows bottlers to establish or increase their sustainability efforts – minimizing waste and increasing recycling.

As soft drink and brewery bottlers continue their diligence on reducing “no-code, no-run” production lines, the V413-D black ink helps keep pace by providing the best overall ink adhesion to assure product traceability. And with easy to read “best by” codes that are reliably printed, distribution partners are able to efficiently rotate stock at different points throughout their supply chains. This helps reduce waste from out-of-date product and ensures the freshest product is stocked on store shelves.

Tập đoàn Baosheng tối đa hóa thời gian hoạt động trong môi trường khắc nghiệt với giải pháp Videojet

Baosheng Group Maximizes Uptime In A Tough Environment With Videojet Solution

Leading Chinese Cable Manufacturer Implements Videojet inkjet Printers, Improves Reliability and Increases Savings

WOOD DALE, Ill. — February 5, 2013 — Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, today announced that Baosheng Group has improved uptime and print quality by adding Videojet’s 1710 continuous inkjet printer to its high-volume production facility in Jiangsu Province, China.

Baosheng Group is a leading cable manufacturer in China. The company produces a wide range of general-purpose power and communications cable and wires in addition to specialty cable for the mining and marine industries. The company has four production lines that run over 32 feet of cable per minute, 24 hours a day. Previously, Baosheng had been utilizing 40 early-generation continuous inkjet printers, but was finding it difficult to clearly mark the products with required information including the manufacturer’s name, product model, cable specifications, measurement marks, date, voltage, CCC certification, equipment codes and working shift.

“Code legibility and ink adhesion is vital to our business when we are required to meet industry regulations.  Additionally, our high production speeds, hot temperatures and factory environmental conditions make it necessary to implement a printer that can perform consistently and keep production moving,” said Ju ChaoRong, Director of Technology Management for Baosheng. “We’ve found this with Videojet’s 1710 continuous inkjet coder. We can run any ink we need—including pigmented, high-contrast ink—in the 1710 coders without problems. And the ink dries very quickly with excellent adhesion, supporting our fast production speed.

Baosheng selected Videojet for its high performance equipment with operational stability, competitive pricing and timely service response. When encountering extreme humidity and wide temperature swings, many other continuous inkjet printers experience clogs and ink contamination, causing major delays along the production line. The Videojet’s 1000 Line of continuous inkjet printers, including the 1710, was specifically designed with CleanFlow printheads and SmartCartridgeTM ink technology to deliver clear codes in tough operating conditions and help eliminate ink contamination.

“Maximizing production line uptime is critical to delivering the widest product selection and most competitive prices to our customers. The design of the Videojet 1710 printer contributes directly to our production line uptime,” said ChaoRong. “The 1710 is ready when our lines are, helping us achieve our business goals and gain significant financial savings.”

“Baosheng’s challenging operating environment really tests the efficiency and quality of their production equipment. Therefore, Videojet is continually striving to deliver the highest quality products to help customers like Baosheng achieve uptime and significantly eliminate waste and ink contamination,” said Mark Breunig, continuous inkjet product manager for Videojet. “We are pleased to offer continuous inkjet printers that can meet Baosheng’s high expectations and help drive down operating costs.” After the successful installation of the first Videojet 1710 printer, Baosheng purchased nine additional units and nine Videojet 1510 printers.

Videojet Shares Key Tips To Avoid Ink Transfer On Wound Cable And Tubing

Application-specific Solutions Can Help Eliminate Ink Transfer Altogether

WOOD DALE, Ill. — April 23, 2013 — Codes that are faded, smudged or visually incomplete can cause considerable downtime, excessive waste and a degraded view of a product’s quality. Cable and tubing manufacturers know this all too well.

Directly printed on the surface of wire insulation, cable jacketing and plastic tubing, legible codes provide reliable product identification and traceability of products, batches and lots.  Fortunately, ink transfer is completely preventable with the right application-specific solutions.

Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, suggests three key ways to influence the coding process to promote optimum ink adhesion and eliminate transfer from one surface to another on spooled wire or cable.

  1. Select the right ink. With so many inks available to choose from, it is imperative to select inks that are designed and formulated to complement the application and operating conditions.
  2. Evaluate your materials. Materials containing high amounts of volatile plasticizers (chemical additives) tend to resist good ink adhesion for long periods of time. When coding on these materials, performance must be checked and suitable precautions made. It is essential to select an ink with the appropriate chemistry to obtain good adhesion on the substrate.
  3. Survey your processes. Sometimes changing up processes can improve ink adhesion on products.

For example, coding immediately after the wire or cable has exited the extruder, instead of waiting until it exits the cooling bath, can promote rigorous initial adhesion.

“Companies should look for installation expertise, a wide selection of well-tested inks and significant experience and knowledge about extruded product applications. The best coding equipment/ink vendors run tests with actual samples and replicate the production environment as closely as possible,” said Drew Weightman, vertical marketing manager for Videojet. “The good news is that there are solutions available to solve almost any transfer problem; it’s just a matter of finding the right one that will adhere, and stay put.”

VIDEOJET® Highlights Important Factors in Selecting the Right Ink for the Right Application

Understanding the Product Lifecycle Aids in Ink Selection

WOOD DALE, Ill. — May 7, 2013 — There has been a growing need among manufacturers to print readable, high-quality codes on their products and packaging — codes that can endure a variety of conditions and environments to accurately and efficiently identify and track products throughout their entire value-add lifecycle. Successful solutions will emphasize the critical role of marking and coding technology in this process. Still, when it comes to purchasing new coding equipment, the focus is often on simply identifying the right printer. Often overlooked is selecting the right ink, which is equally as important as selecting the right coding equipment.

Manufacturers typically focus on the obvious factors of ink selection, like the type of substrate that will be coded, but may be unaware of other pertinent ink selection considerations, such as the drying and curing times required for the applications. In addition, the manufacturing environment can play a role in determining which ink to select. Conditions like moisture, extreme temperatures and humidity can impact code durability. For manufacturers to get the most out of their coding solution investment, it is essential to look at the entire life-cycle environment.

By better understanding the various conditions a product might endure over its lifecycle, a manufacturer can identify the best coding solution for its products. In-house validation testing is a good way to determine that the best ink gets qualified and selected. These tests help prevent surprises from occurring long after the product leaves the manufacturing facility. Partnering with a coding and marking manufacturer can help a company narrow down appropriate inks by running sample prints and, eventually, validating ink performance to replicate the lifecycle experience.

Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leader in the product identification industry, outlines what steps should be taken to identify the appropriate ink:

  • Ask the Experts: Manufacturers should work with their marking and coding ink and equipment partner. By engaging ink and printer specialists, manufacturers can achieve a greater understanding of their specific needs. An expert will help narrow down the ink selections to as few as one or two potential inks and can aid in troubleshooting new problems that arise after implementation.
  • Be Aware of New Technology: Just as processes are always changing and improving in the manufacturing environment, ink specialists research new formulations to meet coding application challenges.
  • Don’t Cut Corners: It may be tempting to some manufacturers to save money by purchasing fluids from third party ink suppliers, but this can be risky since the inks are not designed to match exact printer specifications. As a result, these third party ink products can degrade a printer’s performance as well as the code appearance over time.

Maintaining a code’s integrity is critical to tracking a product or component. Without the right ink, it is nearly impossible to track a product through its value-add lifecycle. By educating themselves on their customers’ needs and consulting with ink and printer application specialists, manufacturers can get a complete picture of a code’s endurance so they can choose the best coding equipment and ink for the job.
